Celebrating the role of Labour in power locally, and the impact councillors across the country have on changing their communities for the better.
Maintaining strong local campaigning, supporting Labour groups to develop their campaigning cultures, providing the support they need to keep wining.
Influencing the Government to understand the needs of local government, the demands faced by councils, and the solutions we have to deliver change.
2024 marked 20 years since I joined the Labour Party, and I have campaigned at every local, regional and national election since.
Winning our first general election in 19 years was remarkable, especially given our Party’s recent electoral and internal challenges.
As national secretary to the Jewish Labour Movement, I led the fight against antisemitism within the Labour Party, and as a member of the Labour Party’s National Constitutional Committee for 7 years I pushed the Party to uphold a fair and rigorous approach to handling our internal disputes.
I was elected on to the National Executive Committee in 2024 as part of the Labour to Win team of candidates representing CLPs.
Since 2021 I have led the London Borough of Ealing as the Labour Leader of Ealing Labour’s group of councillors.
In that time we won an historic fourth consecutive term leading the Borough, with the largest number of councillors ever elected in Ealing. Our councillors are the most diverse group of representatives ever elected to the council.
We have made huge strides in changing our borough for the better, with a focus on delivering safe, genuinely affordable homes, bringing good, well paid jobs back to the borough, taking firm action on the climate emergency, as well as fighting the inequalities that hold too many people and communities back from achieving their aspirations.
I have led the borough with hope, creativity and a focus on changing our part of West London for the better, in an open, inclusive and transparent way.
The Local Government Association Labour Group is the collective voice for Labour councillors in local government. Since 2024 I have been deputy leader of the group, and a deputy chair of the LGA.
With Labour in power nationally the work of the LGA Labour Group is critical in bringing national and local government together to deliver on the Party’s mission to devolve power back to local communities.
Together with the LGA Labour leadership team, we are focussed on ensuring that we celebrate Labour locally, campaign to keep winning and influence the government on behalf of local Labour groups.
